The depths of the shipping lane reached 13.5-14 meters, while the depths of the entrance to the port and the basin ranged between 9.5-10 meters, according to the results of the technical survey conducted during the past two days using the latest specialized devices and under the supervision of the Senior Advisor, Captain Mohammed Al-Naas.
This survey comes 6 months after the previous survey in March 2025, in order to track any potential differences. The results showed that the depths are in excellent condition as they were, with no significant natural backfilling inside the port, which enhances its operational readiness.
The survey also identified some deposits near the southern pier as a result of the ongoing works, which are currently being treated through continuous dredging operations.
These results represent the fruit of hard work, and confirm that the Port of Sirte Free Zone has been receiving ships for several months with high efficiency, which makes it strategically advanced as one of the most important gateways to the sea and desert that conforms to international standards.
