Within the framework of enhancing the readiness of the Port of Sirte Free Zone and developing the navigational traffic system, the Port Control Station operating on the maritime frequency has been installed in the port, as this station is the link between the port and the ship management, as it receives and sends arrival and departure telegrams, allowing the technical crews to be provided with the necessary information to dock the ships and enter the port dock area safely and smoothly.

Technical tests were conducted to measure the quality and extent of the terminal under the supervision of the Chief Consultant at the Sirte Free Zone, Captain Mohammed Al-Naas, and with the participation of the Information Technology and Services Management Office, where the results proved high efficiency and wide range, including a successful experience of communicating with an oil tanker about 45 miles from the port.

These efforts come within the framework of the Sirte Free Zone Administration’s keenness to work in accordance with international conventions and standards, in order to enhance the safety and efficiency of navigational traffic in the port.
