As part of the accelerated construction works within the Sirte Free Zone Port Basin, the executing company of the project has started the work of lowering concrete blocks of the “Acropod” type at the northern barrier of the port, with a weight of 25 tons per block, in an advanced engineering step aimed at repelling and breaking strong waves.
The landing process is carried out in an overlapping and harmonious manner according to precise engineering standards, ensuring the dispersion of the waves and the effective absorption of their force, which contributes to protecting the marine basin and raising the efficiency of the barrier in the face of natural factors.
These works come as part of a comprehensive plan to rehabilitate the port in accordance with international specifications and standards, in order to enhance its readiness to be one of the leading maritime and logistics centers in Libya in line with the objectives of Libya’s Vision 2030.
