Sirte Free Zone Port announced the completion of the installation of the first dedicated platform for the unloading of bitumen ships, in a step that reflects the development of the port and its response to the growing needs in light of the urban boom and major development projects witnessed in Sirte and eastern and southern Libya.
Development projects in the port and the neighborhood are led by the efforts of the National Development Authority, which is working to strengthen the infrastructure and provide the necessary equipment to support strategic projects. Bitumen is an essential material in construction and road paving, making the new platform a quantum leap to secure supplies and facilitate the movement of imports.
The Sirte Free Zone confirms that the preparation of the platform comes within a comprehensive plan to develop the port’s capabilities and transform it into a logistical and commercial center that serves the central region and extends deep into southern Libya. She also stressed that this achievement strengthens the confidence of international and local partners in the port’s capabilities and its readiness to receive investments and joint projects that contribute to supporting the economic development process in Libya.
